Located on the Granbury Square, The Babe’s Chicken Dinner House opened on June 18, 2007. Well known for it’s fried chicken, Babes also serves Chicken Fried Steak, Fried Chicken Tenders, Fried Catfish and Hickory Smoked Chicken. The deserts are wonderful too!
The building was constructed around 1917 and originally sold Ford Model Ts and was the first auto dealer in Granbury – in fact, the hydraulic lift used to work on those Model Ts, was found buried in the alley.
At some point in the building’s past, it began to fall down and was renovated. Easy in and out and accessible restrooms are now part of the building design. Parking is available on the street and in the Granbury square parking lots. The only reason we didn’t give the restaurant 5 stars is because it is always crowded, making it a bit difficult to navigate inside. However, the tables are spaced nicely and the staff is very happy to help if needed.
